Is it time for a
vacation yet, you know that you are ready, but will you be willing to take your work with you? Even a doctor has the ability to take a holiday without being disturbed, so why would you not expect the same courtesy? You may not be a qualified medical provider, but if you are expected to be
rational during a day at the office, you will need some sort of rest and relaxation, don't you think? There are many issues that you can develop while on your trip, but you must learn to get your priorities straight, because if you don't, who knows how long it would be before you end up becoming stressed out. The
answer would be to leave the electronics behind and only use them for emergencies.
Fortunately I work for myself, but even when I worked for other people I was never required to stay in touch, unless it was for emergency purposes. Personally I think that we will get better results from our employees if we break all ties with them at least once or twice a year at vacation time. No company
policy should ever dictate that an employee stay in touch with their office, although when you really think about it, you could think of it as job security. When the company you work for insists that you stay in touch with them during your vacation, it may be time to reevaluate your employment arrangement. It has been suggested that
absence makes the heart grow fonder, but if I am on vacation, leave me alone please!
